Egypt, Cairo (web desk): The two sons of ex-president of
Egypt Hosni Mubarak, Alaa and Gamal have been released from jail after four
years. They were got arrested with their father.
Security officials said the two,
businessman Alaa and Mubarak's one-time beneficiary clear Gamal, walked free
from Torah jail in a southern Cairo colony on Monday and headed to their
respective homes in the capital's Heliopolis colony. The two sons along with
their father are still facing a retrial on corruption allegations.
Further, both the sons are also
facing a trial on insider trading charges and they had been exonerated from
other accusations.
Mubarak, now at age of 86, was dethroned
in February 2011. He with his two sons was arrested after two months of
stepping down the president, in April. Mubarak was held in a military hospital
of southern outskirts of Cairo. The release of the two had been expected for
several days.
Conversely it happened because of
the deadly spars between anti-government protesters and police and police
celebrated the 4th anniversary of revolt at the ending of 29th
reign of Hosni Mubarak.
The violence on Sunday left at
least 18 people dead, including two men who authorities said died planting a
bomb, and three police officers, and dozens of people wounded.
