Terrorists blasted the gas pipeline in Baluchistan.

Pakistan, Quetta: Terrorists blasted the 24 inches gas pipeline in Baluchistan on Sunday in Dera Bugti District.

The militants planted an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) near a gas pipeline in Landola, an area of the district. The explosive material exploded with an emphatic voice.

According to the Levies Authorities, due to this massive detriment the gas supply to the suburbs has been shelved and the entire area has been burned.

Levies and Frontier Corps personnel were quick at the scene and fire fighters were also called to snuff out deafening flames of fire. However, it was learnt that the technical staff of the gas company was facing problems in terms of immediate repair of the destroyed portion owing to uncertain law and order situation in the area.

There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.

The incident has come days after militants blew up two 220 KV transmission lines in Baluchistan's Notal area, which had caused suspension of power supply to 29 districts of the province. Sabotage of gas pipelines is a characteristic tactic of tribal militants which is frequently witnessed in Baluchistan. However, the province also suffers from attacks carried out by Taliban militants.
