Pakistan, Lahore: Ikram-ul Haq
Lahori finally executed at Kot Lakhpat Jail Lahore early in the morning.
Ikram-ul Haq Lahori belonged to a banned terrorism organization Lashker-e-Jhangvi and was responcible for killing a Shia.
Strong security measures were
taken in and around Kot Lakhpat Jail. Heavy sole of police, army and rangers
were deployed around the jail premises.
Ikram-ul-Haq met his family last
time on Wednesday. After hanging the criminal, Ikram’s body was handed over to
his brother.
Till now 20 culprits have been
executed since the lifting the bane of death penalty by government after
Peshawar incident.
On Dec 17, Prime Minister Nawaz
Sharif had lifted the moratorium on death penalty after the attack on
Peshawar's Army Public School that killed more than 140 people including 132 children.
The moratorium was enforced
during the tenure of the Pakistan Peoples Party government in 2008.
