Brazil's most populous region
facing worst drought in 80 years.
Environment Minister Izabella
Teixeira said the country's three most populous states are experiencing their
worst drought since 1930.
And the other states of Minas
Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paul must save water, she said after an
emergency meeting in the capital, Brasilia.
Ms. Teixeira described the water
crisis as "subtle" and "worrying".
The water crisis can be affected
on industry and agriculture. And it could badly damage the Brazil’s economy.
The drought has also an impact on
energy supplies because it has reduced the generation of electricity from
hydroelectric dams and from other means of generation.
