Member of a banned organization will be executed tomorrow morning.

Pakistan, Lahore: Death row prisoner Ikram-ul-Haq also known as Lahori kept in Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat jail will be put to death on Saturday morning.

Ikram-ul-Haq, a member of banned militant organization Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, was sentenced to death by an anti-terrorism court in 2004 for killing a Shia three years earlier in 2001.

He was to initially set to be executed on January 8, 2015, however, the anti terrorism court had declared a compromise agreement between his family and the victim’s family as null and void for their failing to meet certain legal requirements.

However, on January 12, an Anti Terrorism Court in Faisalabad rejected the bail appeal of Ikram as the claimant did not reach the court to record his proclamation.

Hence the death warrant was re-issued as the complainant didn’t appear before the court to record the statement within six days over his willingness submitted earlier in writing to pardon the criminal.
